Get your firm to run without you.
You dedicated years of your life to learning the law. Now you wear every hat in the business. Kinetic manages the business side of law firms, at whatever scope you need, so you can go back to practicing.
Three places you hemorrhage hours.
Running a firm that operates on what's left at 6 o'clock on Friday evening is a recipe for burnout.
Unbilled and uncollected.
The retainer came in. The work went out. The invoice did not. Then the retainer ran dry and the work kept going. Most firms we meet are sitting on real money in matters that were never billed and invoices nobody had time to chase. Collecting it is a process, and the process needs an owner.
New hires starting from zero.
The paralegal you brought on six months ago still asks questions you have answered three times. Not because they cannot learn. Because nothing was written down. Every new hire relearns the firm from scratch, and some do not make it.
Software you pay for and work around.
The practice management system was configured by whoever had a free afternoon. Documents live in three places. Billing and the calendar do not talk to each other. Every switch to a new tool was supposed to fix it, and every switch moved the same problems somewhere new. The team works around the software instead of with it.
Kinetic manages all three so you can focus on your matters and practicing law.
The technology is built and supported by Arcadia Support, which Kinetic's founder co-founded, under its own agreement.
Six things that are true at a firm Kinetic runs.
A single Project fixes one of these. An ongoing engagement builds toward all six.
- New matters open within one business day of intake.
- Billing realization above 85%.
- Receivables aging under 45 days.
- Partner-level reporting visible weekly.
- New hires productive in days, not weeks.
- You can take a week off without the firm grinding to a halt.

Remote, anywhere you have internet. Real estate, construction, estate planning, family, employment, business litigation. The ongoing engagements fit firms running 40 or more active matters. Smaller practices usually need one scoped project, and we say so on the call.
Who we don't work with: firms with an in-house COO. Attorneys who want to keep running the business themselves, who are usually right to.

A project, a retainer, or a director.
Engagements range from a single scoped project to a full Management Services engagement where Kinetic runs the business side ongoing. Each has its own fit, its own scope, and its own written agreement. We tell you which one you need on the first call.
For when a lot is broken and you want the one fix with the most impact, done first.
We scope it, build it, document it, hand it off. Common Projects: templates and workflow, intake and billing process, client response SLAs, new client acquisition, hiring playbook, collections cleanup. Fixed fee, written scope, defined end date.
- A written scope.
- The build.
- Documentation, in your systems.
- Handoff to the people who will run it.
- Ongoing management after the Project ships.
- Changes outside the written SOW.
- Software licensing. We tell you what to buy, you buy it directly.
- Timing: one to three months, start to ship.
- Fee: $5,000 to $20,000, fixed, scoped on the first call.
For when you want a senior counterpart running the business side with you.

- Shared visibility on day-to-day tickets and vendor issues.
- Hiring support: role scoping, candidate review, onboarding plans.
- Monthly firm management summary with recommendations.

- Hiring, onboarding, and HR cadence.

The firms we work with.
Three engagements at three scopes: Management Services, a Fractional retainer, and a consulting engagement that launched a firm.
Ryan ran a solo practice struggling to reach $240,000 a year, with no predictability on when the next retainer would land and significant unbilled work piling up alongside the legal work. Kinetic came in on consulting, moved to a Fractional retainer, converted to a Management Services engagement, and now runs the business side of the firm end to end. Heather Bradfield is the Managing Director of the firm.
The firm now runs with three paralegals, a case manager, a legal administrator, an of counsel attorney, a Managing Director, and a help desk team from Arcadia Support keeping the technology in order.
Ryan has agreed to speak with prospective clients. Contact us for an introduction. Read the full case study.
A solo attorney with three of-counsel attorneys and a lean support team wanted structural help on hiring, intake, and receivables. Kinetic placed a legal administrator and a paralegal through the Kinetic contractor pipeline, structured the of-counsel operating cadence, and focuses heavily on accounts receivable discipline.
Jennifer came to Kinetic in October 2025 with a W2 job and no clear picture of the firm she could build. The consulting engagement put her in an of counsel seat at Ryan Daniel Law, where the demand for her work became obvious. Kinetic scoped the practice around estate planning, structured the firm, and ran the launch. The Atlas Firm opened in March 2026. She has since left the W2 and is building a remote estate planning practice.

The person running Kinetic.
Fortune 5 to founder-led.
Heather Bradfield has twenty-plus years in operations, from senior corporate roles to founder-led consulting. She held operations leadership roles with international scope at UnitedHealth Group, a Fortune 5 health insurer.
She left corporate in 2018 to launch her own operations consulting practice, specializing in healthcare. She wound it down in 2025 and founded Kinetic the same year to focus on firm management for attorneys. She co-founded Arcadia Support. She is currently Managing Director of Ryan Daniel Law.
Why law firms
Heather considered law school as a teenager and has been drawn to the law ever since. What holds her is the same thing that held her in healthcare: people come to a lawyer the way they come to a doctor, when something in their life has gone hard. She would rather work for the David than the Goliath. She has a bend for justice and for taking care of her own community.
Arcadia Support
Where Kinetic runs the business side (process, people, cash flow, management, reporting), Arcadia handles the technology (practice management configuration, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AI tooling, help desk). Two separate businesses, one coordinated engagement when it fits.
Firms that engage Kinetic usually engage Arcadia for the technology work. You can engage either independently. arcadiasupport.co.

Ryan Daniel Law, Dallas.
Real estate and construction litigation. One attorney in November 2025. A staffed firm with three times the revenue by July 2026.
Where it started
Ryan ran a solo practice struggling to reach $240,000 a year. He came to Kinetic asking about a loan to grow the firm. The money was already in the firm. Roughly $60,000 of completed work had never been billed, and retainers went out once and were never renewed as the work continued. Revenue arrived whenever a new client did. Hours were whatever it took.
What was broken
- Billing. Retainers were collected at intake and never rebilled.
- Receivables. Finished work sat unbilled, and nobody owned collections.
- Capacity. One attorney doing intake, billing, admin, and the legal work, so hires never had a system to land in.
- Systems. A ten-year inbox, files across drives, and a practice management setup nobody had configured.
What Kinetic did, in order
- November 2025. Consulting engagement. Receivables first: a billing cadence, and collections started the same month. ClickUp put in place on day one, alongside Smokeball, to run both the matters and the business side.
- December 2025. Engagement moved to a Fractional retainer. Billing moved from monthly to weekly. Legal administrator hired.
- January 2026. $60,000 in receivables collected. For the first time the firm had cash to hire further.
- February 2026. Engagement converted to a Management Services Agreement, with Heather Bradfield as Managing Director. A new paralegal and an of counsel attorney started.
- Spring 2026. Arcadia Support migrated the firm's systems. Kinetic cleared a ten-year inbox and organized the drive. Smokeball and ClickUp now feed each other through an API.
- July 2026. Annual revenue run rate reached $720,000.
- Now. Intake templates to automate what comes in. Two new practice areas in build: receiverships and estate planning.
What changed
The firm now runs with three paralegals, a case manager, a legal administrator, an of counsel attorney, a Managing Director, and a help desk team from Arcadia Support.
Ryan's week now
At his desk 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. Lunch every day. The day-to-day runs on the systems and the team.
What the Managing Director does now
Heather decides who gets what work, makes sure every client gets a response, and runs the weekly operating cadence. The rest of her time goes to growth: the estate planning practice, lead generation, networking, the firm's website and logo.
In their words
"My wife and I have a better relationship. I'm less stressed at home. She's less stressed about money. We are working together again."Ryan Daniel
"You are truly an answered prayer. We appreciate the brain behind the scenes and all the systems you put in place. We are where we are today because of you and your systems."Ryan's wife
